Newport City Council currently commissions a Childcare Business Support contract consortium made up of 4 Childcare Umbrella Organisations. The contract aims to address specific issues identified by the Childcare Sufficiency Assessment and other related reports which focus on Newport specific issues affecting the childcare market; working parents; and those seeking employment whilst paying reference to the national agenda for childcare and early years. Whilst the current contract has met all objectives, Newport City Council has decided to amend the existing contract model to reflect recent policy changes from Welsh Government and Care Inspectorate Wales so that it provides the most comprehensive support to the childcare sector during this period of change.In order to inform the recommissioning process the Council would like organisations working in this field to contribute towards the development of the service specification and invite support providers to attend consultation sessions with the Family Information Service and Childcare team.We welcome attendance from support providers already working with the Family Information Service and Childcare team in Newport as well as those from outside the area.Newport Family Information Service and Childcare team would like to meet with support providers individually and have set aside January 25th 2019 9.30 – 3.30Each consultation session will last up to a maximum of 45 minutes each and will be by appointment only.If you would like to attend, please contact Penelope Phillips by emailing penelope.phillips@newport.gov.ukNOTE: To register your interest in this notice and obtain any additional information please visit the Sell2Wales Web Site at https://www.sell2wales.gov.wales/Search/Search_Switch.aspx?ID=88158.
