NHS CHC Assessment Services to NEW Devon Clinical Commissioning Group

NEW Devon CCG currently has a backlog of outstanding pre-April 2016 Continuing Healthcare (CHC) assessments. Currently NEW Devon CCG does not have the capacity in its Assessment and Review teams to clear the backlog without a detrimental impact on current assessments. The number of cases is still being worked through and defined – however it is anticipated that an initial cohort of 100 cases will be ready to be processed (with the expectation that more will follow as those cases are cleared). The total current backlog is circa 350. This number of cases has been determined through reasonable projection based upon current process and throughput and may be subject to variation depending on actual work completed by time of contract award and that completed throughout the life of the contract. NEW Devon CCG intends to process a number of the pre-April 2016 backlog cases, by outsourcing a substantial number of historic assessment cases to an appropriately experienced external supplier to contribute to clearing the outstanding backlog. Future Requirements: Throughout the life of any ensuing contract awarded it will be an expectation of NEW Devon CCG that the successful supplier can be engaged to process any further backlogged assessments which will include both live cases and previously unassessed periods of care (PUPoC) cases. Any engagement will be on the terms and pricing submitted as part of their tender response to this opportunity.
