Community health services. The contract for Community Gynaecology Service for Haringey and Islington CCG will manage the delivery of one stop community (outpatient) gynaecology service in Haringey and Islington. The consultant-led community gynaecology service will provide a one stop, intermediate tier of health care provision, operating between existing Primary and Secondary Care services for appropriate gynaecology assessments, diagnostics and treatments. The service forms an element of the CCGs' wider intentions to bring integrated care closer to home, thereby improving patient access and providing a cost effective, quality driven service. The service will have three main responsibilities which include the triage of referrals, treatment and the provision of support and clinical education for General Practitioners in each borough. Haringey CCG and Islington CCG has selected the provider based on the criteria released in the tender documents. The Provider has requested to withhold all commercially sensitive financial information. The establishment of the community based gynaecology service will play a pivotal role in reducing demand for secondary care resources and releasing capacity for those patients with more complex and urgent needs.
