NIR Rail network nondestructive testing
Descriptions
The works will comprise the non-destructive testing of the NIR network (including main lines, sidings, a mothballed line and passing loops) over a length of approximately 295 miles. Testing should predominantly be completed using ultrasonic testing. Testing is to be carried out annually and in accordance with the standards listed in the scope.Testing is to be completed at a speed of not less than 10 mph using rail mounted plant typically in either a trailer type arrangement or a self-propelled possession only rail vehicle. A suitable means of hauling the test kit will be required.
