The NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership, hosted by Velindre NHS Trust are acting on behalf of Cardiff and Vale University Local Health Board who are seeking to commission a new dental services Contract (General Dental Service Contract), to replace a previous service in the Rhiwbina area of Cardiff. The overall aim is to provide a high quality, value for money, patient centred general dental service to the population of North Cardiff. The service will promote the importance of good oral health and provide general dental services for the relevant population. The service will use the Welsh Government’s oral health promotion methodology to achieve these aims. Services will be marketed to attract all sections of the population. The previous practice supported in the region of 5400 NHS patients predominantly from the Rhiwbina Ward of Cardiff and the new service will be required to be based in one of the following wards within the Cardiff Local Authority area: Rhwibina, Whitchurch & Tongwynlais, Heath, Llanishen, Lisvane. The anticipated service commencement date is the 1st April 2016.
