North Wales Monuments - Town Wall Lighting

1. BackgroundCadw are seeking to appoint a contractor to supply and install eco-floodlighting at three of their North Wales monuments. They are the Town Walls at Caernarfon, Conwy and Denbigh.2. Purpose of the lighting- To accentuate features of the historic town walls- To showcase local tourism attractions- To add to the 'sense of place' experience for locals and tourists3. Scope of the WorksExpressions of interest are invited from suitably qualified and experienced electrical installation contractors who are able to demonstrate that they have the capacity and resources to successfully undertake this programme within 12 weeks of receiving an order. Selected tenderers will be electrical contractors who are members of the National Inspection Council for Electrical Installation Contracting (NICEIC) and/or the Electrical Contractors Association (ECA) and can demonstrate extensive experience of undertaking works on historic monuments and are able to provide references in confirmation of this if requested.Cadw will be looking for the successful bidders to:- Supply and install the specified luminaires in accordance with the tender documents- Undertake all associated electrical works including cable installation etc- Employ suitable qualified and experienced building/civils contractors to undertake all associated building and civils works including trenching, backfilling, provision of holes in structures and reinstatement etc- Commission the installations- Complete the works within 12 weeks of receipt of an order- Furnish the appropriate warranty/iesThe awarding Authority reserves the right to request parent company and/or other guarantees of performance and financial liability.Payment terms will be indicated in the contract documents. Tenders to be priced in Sterling. Payment made in Sterling only.No special legal form required but joint and several liability assumed by all group bidders before acceptance.The Authority reserves the right to consider variant bids.It is envisaged that the contract will be split into 3 lots, ie Caernarfon, Conwy and Denbigh respectively, however the Authority reserves the right to amend this at the time of tender invitation. Bidders should indicate which lots they are interested in bidding for with their expression of interest submission.
