Northgate Development - Development Management/Project Management.

The Council is seeking a Development Manager/Project Manager to lead the development of the Northgate area of Chester city centre, for retail and leisure led scheme with associated supporting uses, public realm and major infrastructure. The site, most of which is currently owned by the Council, may be developed in phases. The Council intends to continue site assembly as the project progresses. The Development Manager/Project Manager will be expected to manage and co-ordinate the Architect Led professional team to be appointed by the Council, and will be required to manage and lead the development in line with the principles in the Council's existing Masterplan and Concept Scheme. The Development Manager/Project Manager may also be required to assist with site assembly and assist the Council in exploring funding opportunities. The financial structure of the contract with the successful bidder is to be discussed during a brief dialogue phase along with other specific aspects of the scheme (details to be provided to interested parties). It is anticipated that the Development Manager/Project Manager will be appointed in the summer of 2014.The initial appointment of the Development Manager will cover progression of the scheme through the development process up to a planning decision but there will be an option for the Council to extend the appointment to manage the infrastructure provision, provide strategic advice and leadership on the site development of Phase 1.
