(NU/1426) Six Months Rental of a Flow Imaging Particle Analyser System for Zooplankton Analysis
Descriptions
Long-term data sets are invaluable for researching anthropogenic impacts and natural variation fluctuations in marine populations. Owing to the rare longevity of the Dove Time Series (DTS), a monitoring programme of plankton samples collected regularly off the coast of Northumberland for over 40 years, Newcastle University has been awarded a project grant by the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund (EMFF) for the rental of a Zooplankton Flow Imaging Particle Analyser. The apparatus will perform zooplankton identification to family taxonomic level from the DTS samples. This will assist in further species identification and, ultimately, offer an insight into the prevalence of marine microplastics (following FT-IR spectroscopy) at the lowest level of the North Sea food chain, and identify changes over time. The scope of this contract is for the six month rental and supply, delivery and installation of the equipment as detailed in Section 3.1 Technical Specification to the University, with after-sales support and 6 months warranty and maintenance. More detail can be found in the tender documentation which can be found by registering your interest and accessing the the ITT event, which can be done at: https://procontract.duenorth.com/Login The contract reference is NU/1426. The deadline for expressing an interest is Monday 5th November 2018 at 16:00 BST.
