Old Beaupre Castle Conservation Works to the Inner Porch and Auxiliary works

Cadw are proposing to undertake a programme of targeted repair and conservation at this mediaeval and Tudor manor house which is a Scheduled Ancient Monument. The works will involve the use of delicate conservation and repair techniques to eroding carved stone details, in particular to the extraordinary inner porch. Works will include selective consolidation of delaminating and friable stones, selective stone replacement, selective removal of failing cement repairs, application of detailed mortar repairs together with other ancillary works.NB: Preference will be given to bidders who are accredited to the Institute of Conservation. Bidders must be able to demonstrate that their key operatives/ craft workers and site supervisor have proven experience and track record of working on historic buildings, in particular on delicate conservation and repair techniques of carved stonework.The awarding Authority reserves the right to request parent company and/or other guarantees of performance and financial liabilityPayment terms will be indicated in the contract documents. Tenders to be priced in Sterling. Payment made in Sterling only.No special legal form required but joint and several liability assumed by all group bidders before acceptance.The Authority reserves the right to consider variant bidsThe Authority reserves the right to split the requirement into lotsThe Contract will have an option to extend the duration up to a period of a further 2 months
