There is no guarantee that any competitive exercise will follow this request.Flintshire County Council is looking to create a new information, advice and advocacy Service to support the needs of older people across Flintshire.Service ObjectivesThe aim of the new provision will be to improve the lives of older people across Flintshire by providing up to date information, advice and support in order for them to make well informed choices regarding their lives.The service will be easily accessible to all and will promote the independence of older people, supporting them to maintain their physical and mental health. The service will seek to promote the “5 steps to well being” and develop initiatives to deliver these outcomes for older people in Flintshire.The Service will educate and promote home safety for individuals, in order to ensure older people feel confident and safe in carrying out their daily activities within their home and community.The service will promote the social inclusion of older people through way of integration and leisure activities both within and outside the home. The provider will also ensure that relevant signposting is available for those who wish to engage with specific activities.The provider will be an Advocacy Organisation for older people at both an individual level and community level to ensure that older people are represented appropriately, their rights are secured and they have their voice heard.The provider will be expected to work in collaboration with other voluntary organisations and statutory services in Flintshire to problem solve individual situations and ensure that appropriate signposting and support services are accessible. This will include universal self help, local organisations that build community networks and resilience.The provider will also have a responsibility to ensure the views of older people are represented in the planning and development of services, both statutory and local initiatives.
