The Isle of Man Government Department of Health and Social Care, Orthotic and Prosthetic Service is a service which facilitates the treatment and rehabilitation of our patients through the assessment of need and the provision of an appropriate orthosis, which will either remedy or relieve a medical condition or disability, and may prevent the development of more disabling conditions, or prosthesis if required. The service will offer a continuing programme of maintenance, repair and reassessment of need, once the initial orthosis or prosthesis has been supplied. The Department wishes to see continuous improvement in the quality and range of the orthosis and prostheses offered to users, with faster, reliable delivery times. It wishes to promote improved communication with users, carers and primary healthcare providers about orthotics and prosthetics and improve outcomes. The Prosthetic Service requires the successful service provider to identify and have approved a Prosthetist who has a full range of skills and specific experience in the provision of Lower Limb, Upper Limb and Paediatric prosthetics.
