From April 2013, Public Health in Oxfordshire County Council is responsible for a programme of work to improve local services to prevent and treat obesity. This includes commissioning a range of adult obesity treatment services. The prevention and treatment of obesity in Oxfordshire is delivered through a tiered approach, which ranges from primary prevention to tertiary level surgical interventions. This service will be a central part of this tiered approach, bringing together under 1 service provider, a range of existing services and providing the following elements:— An Adult Weight Management Referral Hub— Access to a range of evidence based, Tier 1 weight management interventions— A Tier 2 specialist multidisciplinary (MDT) morbid obesity treatment service
