*This notice has been updated*Conwy County Borough Council is currently completing the Parc Eirias Development Centre situated in Parc Eirias, Colwyn Bay, Conwy. Conwy County Borough Council, in partnership with Llandrillo College, are seeking to establish a Football Academy utilising facilities at both Parc Eirias and Llandrillo College.The purpose of the Football Academy is to give local, regional and perhaps international young football players regular access to top class coaching in quality facilities giving youngsters a chance to develop skills, boost confidence and learn techniques. It will be very important that the activities proposed, as far as possible, complement and comply with all of the relevant football governing body guidelines and operating processes.The links with Llandrillo College present the potential for a strong educational element to form part of the Football Academy offer and we hope that interested parties will explore this possibility.The income generated from the Football Academy will help with the maintenance and upkeep of the facilities.The facilities available at Parc Eirias include: a 60 x 40 metre indoor FIFA-rated training surface, full size 3G FIFA-rated pitch, outdoor pitch within a 6,000 capacity compact stadium, a high performance fitness centre, changing rooms, physiotherapy suite, sport science support, strength and conditioning, heated indoor swimming pool, consultation rooms, astro-turf pitch, indoor hall, gyms and leisure centre facilities. The facilities available at the Llandrillo College site include: 3G pitch and gym. There is a possibility that other Conwy County Borough Council facilities, including astro-turf pitches, playing fields, fitness centres and indoor sports halls, may be utilised as appropriate to deliver the football academy programme.
