Taxi services. Non-scheduled passenger transport. Hire of passenger transport vehicles with driver. On occasions when the business of Parliament necessitates that the either or both House sit beyond 22.30, a late night transport service is offered to staff who are required to work late in support of the late sittings. A late night transport service is required for staff from a number of departments within the House of Lords and the House of Commons providing them with a safe and reliable means of travel home. This service is not provided to Members of Parliament or PeersThe service is subject to significant fluctuations in demand due to the sitting patterns of the House. Requirements are infrequent and unpredictable with no two days, weeks or months being the same. Volumes can fluctuate in peaks and troughs. The majority of cars are required between the hours of 22:30 and 01:00, with 63 % of the total requirement between 23:00 and 00:00. Due to the sitting hours of both Houses, Monday and Tuesday are the days with the heaviest requirement, with a maximum usage in the year of 102 and 145 respectively in one night. Due to the unpredictability of the house rise times, it is possible that the requirement on any given Monday or Tuesday could be zero.Due to the fluctuations in demand for this service and changes in the sitting patterns of Parliament the value of this contract has decreased, estimated value of contract will be approximately 500 000 GBP per annum, but this figure may vary over the lifetime of the contract.The duration of the contract is 3 Years, plus 2 optional extensions of 12 months (subject to performance and the needs of the Authority)
