Partial removal of bandstand to Victoria Pier, Colwyn Bay

Conwy County Borough Council wishes to invite Tenders from suitably qualified companies for the performance of the following contract:Provision of safe working arrangements to the Victoria Pier, Promenade, Colwyn Bay for the partial removal / dismantling of steel beams, timber supports and cast-iron balustrading. All removed materials to be labelled, protected and stored on the pier decking in protective wrapping. Site re-instatement / security works by provision of temporary scaffold infilled barriers across the bandstand opening, and sundry temporary bracing to underside of decking.Interested companies MUST satisfy ALL of the following requirements:1.Proof of membership and accreditation with the National Federation of Demolition Contractors (NFDC).2.Proof of previous experience of similar dismantling related works and value, with submission of two referees from public organisations where previous works have been undertaken within the last 2-3 years. Public organisations include NHS sites, Local Government / Authority sites and MOD facilities.3.The dismantling aspects of this project cannot be sub-contracted / assigned to another organisation, however making good works / temporary works may be by others.4.All non-demolition works sub-contracting organisations employed by the principal contractor to demonstrate equal proof of membership / accreditation to their respective relevant bodies and provide 2 referees for similar works / value for public organisations as previously described.5.Hold relevant and up to date PI cover, which extends a minimum of 6 months beyond the proposed dates for completion. Copies of relevant documents to be provided with tender submissions. PI cover to be a minimum of £10,000,000 (for employer’s liability) and £5,000,000 (for public liability).6.All non-demolition works sub-contracting organisations employed by the principal contractor to demonstrate equal proof of PI cover, as described above.7.Demonstrate sufficient capacity / resources to undertake the whole of the works within a 3 – 4 week contract period.8.The contract will be awarded on 70% price and 30% quality.
