Transport services will include home to school transport for children with special educational needs, home to college transport for young adults with special educational needs a revised approach to procurement is being used through a Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS) and a system of individual route auctioning. New operators are able to join at any time during the life of the framework as long as they pass the quality checks to access the framework. The framework will be open for 5 years with an option to extend for a further 4 years (2 + 2 years extensions). The required transport services will be delivered using a mix of different vehicle types (taxis, minicabs, minibus and 9 seat vehicles and mini coaches) plus drivers. There will also be a requirement for the provision of vehicles only on a spot hire, shore term and long lease basis.
