Research, develop and integrate external best practice employee relations approaches and strategies, in a manner that reflects Maynooth University’s culture and values;The provision of expert, comprehensive and relevant employee relations advice and strategies to Heads of Department. This includes the interpretation and provision of advice on the pertinent aspects of national agreements to ensure the uniform application of their provisions;Foster constructive working relationships with academic and departmental staff, staff representative groups and professional associations to deliver effective solutions to HR related issuesRepresent Maynooth University (as required) in negotiations with trade unions at local level and at the Workplace Relations Commission, Labour Court and other relevant external fora;Actively support and guide colleagues in the HR Department on matters relevant to employee relations to ensure they remain informed of best practice and prevailing employment legislation;Represent the HR Department at all relevant internal and external governance committees, as requested by the Director of HR;Ensure the University is kept up to date on its legislative and statutory obligations through translating new EU and local legislation into best practice working practices and policies for the University, ensuring relevant changes are made to respective end-to-end processes;
