PCO/226 - Provision of Accessible Transport Services
Descriptions
The Maynooth University Access Programme (MAP) provides a transport service for students with disabilities who require transportation to and from campus. This is primarily for the support of students with physical/mobility difficulties or blind/visually impaired students. The university wishes to appoint competent service providers undertake the provision of Accessible Transport services to the University. The successful operator will be expected to provide accessible transport services for a number of students each academic year. The number of students requiring daily accessible transport to and from the college over the last three academic years ranged between 9 and 15 per annum. Most pickup points are in the Greater Dublin Area, Meath and Kildare Area (within a 23KM distance of the university). Individual transport requirements will be varied in terms of the destination and duration of journeys. Some of the work may be regular ‘am’ delivery and ‘pm’ collections extending over the entire academic year (26 weeks), other journeys will be of an ad-hoc nature e.g., a one-off single journey needed at short notice. The majority of transport provision is required during term-time, but there may be some support required during the summer months.
