1.0SUMMARYThe Penllergare Trust wishes to appoint a team of consultants which will include a Conservation Architect and Landscape Architect with other specialist consultant support, to guide us through the process of delivering Phase 2 of the Heritage Lottery Funded project at Penllergare Valley Woods at Penllergaer, Swansea SA4 9GS. The site is located in the Country Park and Gardens, on the A48 between Penllergaer and Llangefelach.This HLF-funded project will conserve, restore and re-invigorate the nationally important historic designed landscape and working with the Penllergare Trust, local community and project partners to restore the a Walled Garden containing a Vinery and Orchid House(SM) and environs.Also included is a new multi-use visitor / retail centre planned with associated interpretation and staff office accommodation. This will provide opportunities for sustainable income streams to support the long-term management and maintenance of the site.An initial Development Stage of the Penllergare Valley Woods, supported by the Parks for People Heritage Lottery Fund scheme, was undertaken to create the currently restoration and park infrastructure. Please see www.penllergare.orgHaving completed an HLF Development Phase as a precursor to Phase 2, we now require a Conservation Architect team to work with the Trust and a team of specialists, including ecologists, archaeologists and interpretation specialists.As a small Trust we need a Conservation Architect and Landscape Architect who will help us to refine the designs for the restoration of the site and put in place what is required to support the future uses of the site. Getting the design right will be key to securing sustainable income streams that will support the on-going management and maintenance of the site once the current project has been completed.We need you to ensure that current proposals will be delivered and enable us to achieve these objectives, managing procurement and contract administration, undertaking regular reporting and project meetings, producing drawings, specifications, schedules of work and managing all construction and resulting site safety to RIBA stage 7.
