Descriptions
The works comprise of the demolition / dismantling of the remainder of the pier structure including the existing pavilion buildings, as follows:Dismantling the super structure of the pavilion buildings above the deck;Complete a photographic and written record of the building’s interiors ‘as found’, prior to the removal and disposal of loose furniture and the opening up and recording of the interior where the murals are believed to exist;Dismantle balustrade members, record and tag components that supported each panel and place in storage, to allow for future restoration and re-use either in connection with the pier or elsewhere;Dismantle the high level structural elements, setting aside in storage, those in categories 1 and 2 and some category 3 elements suitable for future restoration and re-use.Carefully remove the cast iron columns between Grid Line 4 and Grid Line 11 approximately 500mm below the sand and remove to safe storage;Carefully withdraw the cast iron columns and supporting piles between Grid Line 11 and Grid Line 14 and remove to safe storage;Existing columns on Grid lines 1 to 4 are to remain in-situ and unrestrained.Please refer to the tender documents for full details of the requirements.NOTE: To register your interest in this notice and obtain any additional information please visit the Sell2Wales Web Site at http://www.sell2wales.gov.wales/Search/Search_Switch.aspx?ID=70202.The buyer has indicated that it will accept electronic responses to this notice via the Postbox facility.
