About Procurement Hub:Procurement Hub is an innovative, new provider of procurement services to the public sector across the UK, brought to you by the Places for People Group. The Procurement Hub was officially launched in March 2015 with the aim of creating efficiency savings and providing a compliant platform both for Places for People and other public authorities who wish to buy with us.The Procurement Hub channels all of our external procurement services through 1 central point. The hub is free to join and combines Places for People's established procurement frameworks for green services, major works, professional services and IT services with Energy Brokerage, Place-making, , Builders Merchants, Waste and Legal Services and this New Build Contractors framework now in the procurement pipeline.About the Group:Places for People are 1 of the largest property management, development and regeneration companies in the UK. We own or manage over 148 000 homes in a mixture of different tenures and have assets of more than 3 000 000 GBP.About the Contract:Places for People Procurement Hub will be seeking in December 2015 suitably experienced Development Contractors who can deliver construction works to form a nationwide Construction framework for 4 years split into both regional and project value Lots which will be utilised and owned by Places for People. It is intended that this Framework Agreement will be capable of being used by the Places for People Group and all of its Group Subsidiaries and all contracting authorities identified in Paragraph II.2.1) in the United Kingdom.The contract will include major and minor construction works for new build and refurbishment of the following building types: housing, education, universities and colleges of further education and training establishments, leisure recreation and culture, health, prisons, library, fire, ambulance and police, day-care, nursery care, social care, elderly homes, specialist facilities, transport depots, bus stations, farms, recycling facilities, offices and other contracting authority operational, residential, industrial and commercial buildings.Key Drivers and Objectives:The objectives of the project can be summarized in the following key area:— Reduce prices via a competitive OJEU compliant tender process;— Capture SMEs/ other RPs that don't have capacity and/or resource to go out to market especially with new Public Contracts Regulations that are now in place;— A compliant nationwide construction framework providing access to the most suitable contractors at both a regional and project value level.This Framework was completed via an Open Process in accordance with the 2015 Public Contract Regulations, all conducted via an electronic means and fully inclusive of SME's. Further SME engagement will be done via the DPS that follows this framework.
