Pontyclun Fire Training Upgrade

Tenders are requested for the upgrade of the existing carbonaceous fire training system at the Pontyclun Training site for South Wales Fire & Rescue Service. The current control system is obsolete and needs to be replaced with a new system. Although the current system has many features only the temperature logging and emergency shutdown features are currently used and are required in future.Tenderers are also required to convert two of the upstairs rooms to carbonaceous burn rooms and replace the existing fans.The upgrade will be in compliance with the Fire Service Manual - Volume 4 - Fire Service Training - Guidance and Compliance Framework for Compartment Fire Behaviour Training (Red book).It is essential that prospective bidders arrange a site visit with Gareth Davies, Head of Training and Development, to understand the scope of the requirement.The installation and testing of the system and completion of room conversion are to be completed and invoices received before the 31st March 2012. Failure to do so may result in the funding being reallocated to another area of the service.
