Porthcawl Marine Centre
Descriptions
Porthcawl Harbourside CIC are undergoing a major restoration of Porthcawl’s rich heritage as a premier seaside resort through a flagship development and infrastructure investment to enhance the town's health, leisure and economic performance.Porthcawl Harbourside CIC are seeking Expressions Of Interest(EOI) from commercial and non-commercial parties interested in leasing operational components of a planned Marine Centre based in Porthcawl that is due to have phased development from Q3 2015 and come into full use by Q2 2016.The purpose in seeking EOI’s at this stage are due to the design activities, ensuring financial and technical project management of the build for potential end users. The CIC have configured the build redevelopment into 4 operational components, namely:1. Watersports Centre;2. Community & Visitor Hub;3. Coastal Encounters Leisure & Research Attraction4. Business & Retail. The building is located at one of the most iconic areas in Porthcawl, prominently situated at the entrance to the Marina on the waterfront and provides easy access to the water via a slipway and the pier. Its historical and architectural value to Porthcawl are significant and is situated along the Esplanade that sees significant tourism and general footfall. The CIC wishes to invite EOI’s and suggestions of delivery models that could provide efficient integrated multi-use facilities for the proposed Building. It is envisaged that the premises would have mixed use across different floor levels and suggested uses are noted below. These suggestions are open to further negotiation and are not limited, but are merely for the purpose of this EOI.
