WDC are looking for an organisation to carry out the analysis, design and implementation of a new desktop and network infrastructure. This includes:Upgrade of the council's WAN incorporating IP Telephony and wireless considerations.Consideration of changing the Council's Corporate desktop solution including schools estate (e.g. thin client or alternatives: lease / purchase).Align with wider transformation and enable initiatives the Council aims to effect (e.g. mobile and flexible working, asset rationalisation, workforce development, ICT for Learning, Customer Focus, Shared Services etc.).Project management of the above, including responsibility for benefits realisation planning and delivery.Suppliers would need to consider the impact of the National IT strategy and Digital Futures and the opportunities for shared procurement and shared infrastructure following McClelland recommendations.Suppliers would also need to consider the impact of other national projects for example SWAN (due 2014) as part of any response.it is envisaged that implementation work will be completed within 12 months, such that benefits are realised from financial year 2014/15.
