PR Campaign for the Women Adding Value to the Economy (WAVE) Project
Descriptions
Women Adding Value to the Economy (WAVE) is an innovative 3 partner project which aims to tackle the underlying issues that contribute to gender pay inequalities in Wales in employment and self employment. Specifically, WAVE is a partnership project of the University of South Wales (Strand 3), The Women’s Workshop (Strand 2) and Cardiff University (Strand 1) who have come together to provide an innovative equal pay project. The project is part funded by the European Social Fund through Welsh Government.Lead partner the University of South Wales (USW) (Strand 3) is currently seeking to appoint a PR company to manage their media presence throughout the convergence area of Wales (namely pertaining to Strands 2 & 3). It is anticipated that the appointed PR company will use their media contacts, identify appropriate opportunities, contribute to copy and disseminate information. In selecting our PR representative we are seeking a creative and innovative lead, with a demonstrable commitment to the progression of women and a keen awareness of pertinent equalities issues. They will have excellent media contacts in Wales, to help us communicate the project key messages to business, businesses owners, the general public and stakeholders. In line with WAVE’s policies the successful PR representative will have experience of producing bi-lingual campaigns.WAVE intends to use the project launch event (late November) as an opportunity to begin this campaign, and as key PR lever to highlight the gender pay gap. We also seek to position WAVE as ‘the place to go’ for informed and informative comment on women in employment, self employment and gender pay gaps in Wales. We envisage that the PR campaign might include:•Broadcast media appearances and distribution of case studies and relevant materials through other media outlets following the launch of the project (late November 2013).•On-going public relations activities to support the campaign, including stimulating conversation and debate through high profile, high visibility public events and ‘stunts’ etc.•Improving existing social media presence.•Producing high quality bi-lingual (English/Welsh) materials.NOTE: To register your interest in this notice and obtain any additional information please visit the Sell2Wales Web Site at http://www.sell2wales.gov.uk/Search/Search_Switch.aspx?ID=2945.
