Develop and test solutions to empower patients post-stroke. Current state of the art solutions have been assessed by the Magic Consortium under the following areas: Early detection and diagnosis, care coordination, assessment and measurement, rehabilitation, self-management, monitoring and surveillance, peer support and big data. It is clear that whilst there are some early promising technologies there is not a market ready solution to enable post-stroke patients to reach their optimal recovery by 6-months post-discharge. Many technologies have potential to provide a solution either by single application or by combining technologies in novel ways. Magic Consortium is particularly interested in virtual reality, augmented reality, apps, remote connection between therapist, technologies to empower self-care, gamification, remote vital sign monitoring (beyond standard telecare and telehealth) and robotics. Operators will retain ownership of the IPR they generate during the PCP.
