Prior Information Notice. Ealing Clinical Commissioning Group is currently piloting a Primary Care Patient Transport service for patients who face barriers to accessing services in primary care settings because of the lack of appropriate transport and associated support. The pilot service is specifically aimed at supporting patients who are elderly/frail or children who have mobility issues or other health problems which restricts their ability to access public transport. The service is for patients who are registered with GPs across the borough of Ealing Ealing Clinical Commissioning Group now wish to give prior notification of their intention to re-commission the current Primary Care Patient Transport service and wishes to ascertain market interest in this continued provision. Invitation to Prior Information Notice Event 1100hrs Thursday 28th July 2016 The Commissioner would like to invite interested potential providers to attend a Prior Information Event on Thursday 28th July 2016 between 1100 and 1300 at: NHS Ealing Clinical Commissioning Group 3rd Floor Perceval House 14/16 Uxbridge Road Ealing W5 2HL Interested parties are requested to register for this event by 12:00 pm by Tuesday 26th July 2016, by emailing the Ealing CCG Primary Care Patient Transport team, on EALCCG.ptproject@nhs.net The Event will provide opportunities to: —Understand the current service provision —Understand the CCG’s commissioning intentions for the re-commissioned service from January 2017 —Meet and network with peers and/or potential partners. To ensure that the future Primary Care Patient Transport service provides the best all round outcomes for service users, the CCG is interested to consider the views and advice of those with experience in the delivery of specialist Primary Care Patient Transport Services. General The CCG has identified a range of patient needs in relation to transport to appointments in primary care. In particular patients who: experience difficulty attending appointments due to lack of transport; are elderly or frail; have mobility or other health problems; and live in geographically isolated parts of the borough. Having mapped potential demand for this service and established a simple eligibility criteria, the aim is to enable patients to access primary care more easily, encouraging attendance, reducing the need for home visits and reducing the level of activity at secondary care acute providers, in line with the CCG’s Out of Hospital Delivery Strategy. Potential Contract Cost The estimated annual value for the Primary Care Patient Transport Service will be around £290,000 to £310,000. It is envisaged that the CCG will be looking to enter into a three-year contract, commencing January 2017.
