Carmarthenshire County Council is in the process of going out to Tender for the Private Sector Leasing Scheme. The purpose of this Tender exercise is to identify a suitable service provider.The service will provide 50 self contained, furnished and unfurnished, 1, 2 & 3 bedroom properties for people who have applied to the Council for assistance under the homelessness legislation and who, under that legislation, appear to have a priority need for housing.The properties will be dispersed throughout the County to ensure adequate supply for the 3 main area offices, Carmarthen, Llanelli and the Amman and Gwendraeth. Each property will be inspected by Carmarthenshire County Council’s Environmental Health Officers and will be subject to the Council’s accreditation process.The service provider will identify and lease suitable properties from the private sector or social landlords, will ensure that where required they are furnished and equipped for immediate occupation. The service provider will be responsible for management of the properties, including repairs and maintenance, furnishings, household equipment and provision of utility supplies.
