This is a Call-off from the Merseytravel Consultancy Framework Lot 4 Civil & Structural Engineering. The scope for these services is for a structural engineer to carry out principal inspections of the Kingsway Approach Road retaining walls in Liverpool and Wallasey and the seven bridges located in Wallasey on the Kingsway Tunnel estate and to provide a detailed report. The consultant is required to provide a price for plant and equipment in the schedule. It is essential that the consultant visits site during the quotation stage to fully appreciate the task. The consultant is required to undertake the following services:- Provide a detailed programme for the detailed surveys; Carry out appropriate risk assessments and method statements relevant to the inspection of each structure and ensure competent and suitably trained staff are engaged on the inspection service; Identification of resources required for inspection of each structure including staff, equipment, traffic management and access plant; Procurement and administration of contracts for specialist site investigations and factual reports; Preparation of interpretive reports on site investigations; Detailed inspection of structures to Principal Bridge Inspection standards; Preparation and submission of detailed Principal Inspection Reports for each structure; Where required preparation and submission of Feasibility Report, supplementary to Principal Inspection Report, identifying work scope and cost estimates. The consultant should advise on the most cost effective solution to any repairs as detailed in item 3 (Objectives) below and Identify timescales under which any repairs need to be undertaken.
