Project Management of Phase 2 Cheese Plant Expansion

The expansion of SCC’s core cheese business plus the re-development of key infrastructure:• Production Capacity: 13,500 tonnes (now); 21,000 tonnes (post)• Daily Milk Processed: 360,000 litres (now); 585,000 litres (post)• Cheese vats per day: 16 (now); 26 (post)• Cheese packing per yr: 5,500 tonnes (now); 10,000 tonnes (post)-Management of 5 work packages (a to e):• Process design and equipment selection review.• Facility and services design review.• Tendering• Project management: installation, construction, health and safety and risk management, FATs & SATs.-a)Extra 2 cheese process lines to the existing 4.•Additional pasteuriser, separator and standardiser•2 cheese Vats, vats 5 and 6. The 4 vats currently installed on site are Tetra Pak 22,500L OST CH5.•2 15.3m draining and finishing tables, tables 5 and 6.•Curd conveyor extension to the towers to cover tables 5 and 6.•40m2 plant cleaning (CIP) process room to be constructed.•Process automation, control and SCADA integration. Site standard is Schneider.-b)Whey Processing plant replacement and relocation.•Replacement Reverse Osmosis (RO) constituent recovery treatment plant to handle an hourly rate of 30,000 lph (current 24,000plh) concentrating to a minimum 24% total solids.•150m2 plant process room to be constructed.•Installation of new: 2 x 60m3 raw whey holding tanks, whey clarifier, cream separator and pasteuriser, two 6m3 cream storage tanks.•Whey pasteuriser. RO system for concentration from 6.4% T.S. to 24. 2 x 150m3 concentrate storage silos. Stored concentrate from either silo will be pumped to a dispatch point for tanker loading. RO permeate “polisher” filtration system.•Central Glycol cooling plant to provide c. 1,242kW of cooling to the whey process.•Process automation, control and SCADA integration. Site standard is Schneider.-c)Milk Reception and Storage facility replacement and relocation.•Milk tanker “drive-through” access, pumped multi-point off-take and CIP facility, including a weighbridge.•6 x 150,000 litre raw milk silos and CIP.•Process automation, control and SCADA integration. Site standard is Schneider.-d)Retail Packing equipment purchase and installation•Automated infeed line, from low to high care, to multiple lines.•Portion line up-to 1kg pack weight: pre-cutter, intelligent portion cutter, wrapper, labeller and pack station.•Treif/Variovac sliced line improvements: infeed conveyor plus line balancing.•Process automation, control and SCADA integration. Site standard is Schneider.-e)Steam Generation Plant (Boilers)•192m2 boiler house to be constructed.•Gas feed to site.•2 x gas fired boilers with flue gas economisers rated at 7,000Kg/hr ea. to provide a maximum steam output of 14,000Kg/hr to meet site needs.•Process automation, control and SCADA integration.
