Projects for Llwynddo’n Lleol – Creating a Culture of Enterprise amongst Young People – 2011 – 2013. Sector Specific Events.The Llwyddo’n Lleol programme is an innovative scheme which has been developed to foster a culture of enterprise amongst young people. This is an invitation to tender for the development and implementation of a series of sector specific activities. The target beneficiaries for this particular activity – Sector Specific Events in Denbighshire and Conwy will be Year 10 and 11 secondary school students.The aim of this activity is to strengthen the core message of the programme – that local communities can offer a vibrant future to young people, in terms of employment, or self employment opportunities and lifestyle, and to draw particular attention to self-employment and venture creation as viable and exciting career choices. Specific growth sector in each county will be promoted during the events. Through the Sector Specific Events, the objectives are to:Raise awareness – reinforce young people’s understanding and knowledge of enterprise and the career opportunities and support available to them locally. Promote key entrepreneurial skills that young people need to succeed locally both in employment and self employment.Attitude – to expose young people to good role models which challenge career stereotypes, particularly with regards to gender.Perceptions – Challenge negative perceptions and promote rural areas which can offer a great deal to young people.Two events will be held per year – 1 in Denbighshire and 1 in Conwy. Each event will concentrate on a different growth sector within the economies of Denbighshire and Conwy.
