The project or product/servicesCurrently, Bournemouth University prints 2 prospectuses:The Undergraduate ProspectusThe Postgraduate ProspectusThe Undergraduate Prospectus is usually printed and delivered before 1st March every year and The Postgraduate Prospectus which is usually printed and delivered at the end of August every year.The format of the prospectuses may change (currently, they are A5 publications and the number of pages range between 176 - 196 pages). The prospectuses are printed on 100% recycled paper to meet the University"s environmental standards. The publications need to be fully integrated with our digital offering and the expectations of a digitally savvy audience. Meeting the needs of our audience may mean that we decide not to print prospectuses in the future however, this is not the current position. We may also consider personalisation of prospectuses.2. The objectiveOur prospectuses are 1 of our largest marketing tools so we aim to provide high quality publications to help prospective students decide to study at BU. Therefore, we need to appoint a print supplier who can deliver quality printed products on time and to budget.3. The deliverables and deliveryWe need to find supplier whom are:Capable of providing a process that will enable print runs of up to 80 000 prospectuses to be signed off, printed, bound, finished (if applicable) and delivered within 15 working days of receiving artwork files.Able to hold stock so that BU can call off deliveries of 1 or 2 pallets at a time.Access to a truck with tailgate for deliveries, as there is not always a forklift truck available at Bournemouth House.Monthly reports detailing stock levels currently held and deliveries made to BU.The ability to insert up to 20 000 prospectuses into polylopes (which BU will supply) so that boxes of prospectuses can be delivered pre-bagged.Maintenance of a secure, password-protected FTP site for receiving artwork files.Capable of working with hi-res pdfs and Adobe InDesign artwork folders.One large, bulk delivery to be provided free for each prospectus, to our logistics company.4. Services/goods to be provided and priced in the tenderPaperThe paper to be used for the prospectuses is Revive 100, and could be coated or uncoated. We reserve the right to change the paper for a similar equivalent. Cover:300 gsm Interior pages:120 gsm.Print requirementsThe run will be colour throughout, and we expect this to be four colour lithographic print for the basic quotation. Should you be able to offer a web-fed solution we would need to have samples that prove that this method has at least the same level of finish as a lithographic job.Please state whether there are any restrictions on production times e.g. can you print 24/7? Is binding and finishing a 24/7 activity? Are there any additional costs attached to these out of regular hours works? Is this delivered in-house or subcontracted; if it is subcontracted please give details of the supplier as part of your tender response.As an additional option we would like to see costs for a fifth colour on the cover and for alternative finishes such as varnishes.Other optionsWe would be keen to see options and costs for personalisation of the prospectuses or other print options that utilise the latest interactive techniques available.
