Bridgend County Borough Council is planning to procure direct access provision for rough sleepers, providing a safe, dry and warm environment to sleep.The service will need to provide a minimum of 10 units of accommodation or floor space and will need the flexibility to expand in times of need (such as severe weather) and to allow for male and females to sleep in separate rooms. The location of the service must be within a reasonable walking distance of Bridgend town centre.It is intended that the service will support persons, who must be aged 18 years or older, but there is no maximum age.No alcohol or illegal substances are to be consumed on the project, however due to the nature of the project the provider will be required to work with individuals who may be heavily under the influence of alcohol or substances.The staffing model will consist of (at a minimum) one waking night and one sleeping night members of staff available during the hours 8:00pm to 8:00am.This engagement session is in advance of any procurement exercise, and as part of the engagement process Bridgend County Borough Council seeks the views of providers on a 1-1 basis to identify realistic service models and to understand any barriers they are faced with.The Provider event will take place on Wednesday 21st November 2018, 45 minute time slots will be allocated between 9-5pm at Civic Offices, Angel Street, Bridgend, CF31 4WB.Please note there is a maximum of 2 personnel per organisation who can attend.To book a place on the provider event please email Ryan.jones@bridgend.gov.uk
