Provision and the Delivery of Frozen Meals and Equipment Service in Gwynedd

Gwynedd Council recognises that it has a responisibilty to provide meals for certain people in their own homes who qualify for the service under the Chronicaly Sick and Disabled Person Act 1970.The Council wishes to ensure that it fulfils its obligation through the commissioning of a service that gives both value for money and provides choice for the service users. Such a service should be capable of expanding to meet the needs of other people who, whilst benefiting from such support, would not qualify for it as a right.It is within this context that the Council is inviting tenders from independent providers to undertake the provision and distribution of frozen meals and equipment. This document is issued to suppliers who are interested in undertaking this work in all part of Gwynedd. All recipients of the service will have been referred by the Social Services Department as being eligible for the service.
