Awarded
Provision of a Short Breaks Service at Centrica Lodge, Newport and Emergency Placement Services
Descriptions
Newport City Council has undertaken a strategic and innovative re-shaping of the models of support that are available to people with learning disabilities. Under the Promoting Independence and Choice work programme, a range of thematically linked projects is currently underway. One of the key aims of Promoting Independence and Choice is the modernisation of services for people with learning disabilities. The Council recognises that we need flexible and creative approaches to service delivery to enable service users to achieve better outcomes and to fulfil their potential.Within this context, the way in which the Council offers respite services to people with learning disabilities needs to evolve from the traditional residential model. The Council therefore wishes to commission a respite service that offers both residential care and access to meaningful day and evening activities at Centrica Lodge, Newport and a framework of providers for spot purchase of emergency respite. The tender was split into two lots to meet the above requirements:Lot One is for provision of a Respite Service at Centrica Lodge. (ITT_46122)Lot Two is for the provision of spot-purchase emergency respite. (ITT_46130)Bidders could bid for one lot only or both lots.
