Social work and related services. ESPO has been engaged by Leicestershire County Council to assist in the procurement of Advice Services about Social Care, which have been split into two lots, of which tenderers may bid for either or both. The aim of this service is to provide advice to people about social care, and whether or not they are eligible for social care services funded by the Council. The service requirements consist of two lots as detailed below:— Lot 1: Leicestershire Advice Services about social care for adults (aged 18+) of working age, and/or the carers of those people. Services for adults of a working age are more likely to reflect independent living options, such as (for example) Supported Living, or activities to promote social inclusion, such as Community Life Choices (Day) Services. The service will need to respond to these distinctive advice needs.— Lot 2: Leicestershire Advice Services about social care for older adults, and/or the carers of those people. Services for older adults typically reflect the need for increasing support as people become more frail and less able – for example, extra care housing or residential care, or specialist dementia services. Advice and information for older adults will need to anticipate and respond to such demands.The services should be flexible in the manner in which they are delivered and this could include, but is not exclusive to, drop-in sessions, office appointments, home visits and telephone advice.
