The North Wales Adoption Service is run across all 6 Local Authorities in North Wales, with Wrexham County Borough Council taking the lead in terms of management of the service. NWAS requires provision of an Access to Records/Intermediary and Birth Parent Counselling Service for adopted adults and their relatives, across the North Wales region.Wrexham County Borough Council is looking for tender applications from organisations that are able to meet the required service objectives, as detailed below, for the provision of an Access to Records/Intermediary and Birth Parent Counselling Service.Key Objectives of the Services required:To provide an effective and responsive service to individuals in accordance with all current legislative and regulatory requirements.This includes:Access to Information, Tracing and Intermediary Service• Counselling/preparation for adopted adults and birth relatives who wish to trace a family member or members• Support with searching and accessing information• Locating the family member and assisting with making contact, where deemed appropriate and requested by service user.Birth Parent Counselling• Provision of an independent counselling service to birth parents of children referred to the North Wales Adoption Service.Additional•Provision of additional support/counselling to adopters, where it is deemed appropriate to do so by the Project Manager.The Provider will provide the service through the media of both English and Welsh.The service will be commissioned for 3 years (2019-2022) initially and will commence on 1 April 2019. There will be an option to extend the service for up to two years in yearly increments.NOTE: The authority is using eTenderwales to carry out this procurement process.
