Caerphilly County Borough Council's (CCBC)Social Services Adult Services are seeking an independent financial advice service to provide reliable Independent Financial Advice to cases managed under deputyship by CCBC. The independent financial advice service will be required to provide appropriate advice and expertise on Debt consolidation, investments, savings, pensions, taxation and property. Working to the standards outlined by the office of the public guardian:The Service Provider will enable the local authority to meet relevant standards for Local Authority Deputies as outlined by the Office of the Public Guardian, namely:1a (5) Seek independent financial advice, where appropriate, to maximise the return on the client’s savings, investments and any other assets.1b (3) Carry out reviews of savings and investment portfolios at least once a year.1b (4) Demonstrate responsible use of assets, rather than asset reservation.4 (9) Ensure the deputy and all members of staff delegated with deputyship responsibilities have access to appropriate advice and expertise on investments, savings and property.4 (10) Ensure the deputy and all members of staff delegated with deputyship responsibilities have access to appropriate advice and expertise on inheritance tax planning and trusts, including how to apply for a statutory will.Public Authority Deputy Standards (July 2015)NOTE: To register your interest in this notice and obtain any additional information please visit the Sell2Wales Web Site at http://www.sell2wales.gov.wales/Search/Search_Switch.aspx?ID=59854.
