Four Children's Centres are managed by the voluntary sector — Ormiston Children and Families Trust (March, Chatteris and Whittlesey) and Romsey Mill (Romsey, Cambridge) The current contracts end in March 2016. The new contracts will cover the period from April 2016 to March 2018. It is envisaged that the Local Authority's future role as commissioner of Health Visiting, school nursing and Family Nurse Partnership will impact on future delivery of Children's centres. For the reasons set out below undertaking a procurement exercise now would not be viable because there are a number of variable factors that could have a fundamental impact on the specification for the future service.
