Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council acting on behalf of Cwm Taf Substance Misuse Area Planning Board (SMAPB) is seeking to commission a Service Provider to assist with the review and redevelopment of Substance Misuse Services in Cwm Taf (Rhondda Cynon Taf and Merthyr Tydfil).Cwm Taf Substance Misuse area Planning Board is a multi agency partnership board which provides a regional framework to strengthen partnership working and to provide a strategic leadership function in the delivery of the Welsh Government Substance Misuse Strategy “Working Together to Reduce Harm” (2008 to 2018).Substance Misuse Services in Cwm Taf currently provide a wide range of treatment and support services to service users and their families. In recent years, in response to the implementation of Welsh Government Substance Misuse Treatment Frameworks and service user need, Cwm Taf SMAPB has made a number of changes to service delivery. It is now proposed to undertake an exercise to evaluate existing provisions and develop a model of service which will provide a “whole system approach” to the delivery of services across the Cwm Taf Region.As Cwm Taf SMAPB is committed to the service user involvement in the planning design and delivery of substance misuse services; this will be a priority throughout the process.The ideal Provider will have previous experience of working across the public and/or private sector and be able to bring insight, and experience to the project.
