Since 2005 the Emergency Response Department (ERD) of Public Health England (PHE) has granted contracts for the delivery and administration of the Health Emergency Planning Programme. The Health Emergency Planning Programme, accredited by the Royal Society of Public Health (RSPH), is now recognised as the leading qualification for health emergency planning professionals. We are seeking to issue a new contract for preparation, delivery and administration of the programme for delivery from April 2016 onwards.The Department of Health (DH) and PHE are committed to the development and delivery of this important qualification. The RSPH syllabus has been mapped against the National Occupational Standards for Civil Contingencies and has been endorsed by Skills for Health. This qualification remains the only level four (undergraduate) qualification specifically focussed on health emergency planning.
