Newport City Council on behalf of Gwent Substance Misuse Area Planning Board (APB) will be tendering for the provision of substance misuse services to adults and their families within the geographical boundaries of Blaenau Gwent CBC, Caerphilly CBC, Monmouthshire County Council, Newport City Council and Torfaen CBC.The contract will encompass five distinct elements of adult service provision that have previously been contracted separately – open access drug services, alcohol services, prescribing & medical services, family support services and substance misuse services for individuals involved in the criminal justice system.The services will be delivered in accordance with the Department of Health tiered substance misuse system and will include:-The provision of training, support and consultancy to providers at Tiers 1-A range of interventions of varying intensity according to client need at Tiers 2 and 3 including brief interventions, assessment, care planning, psychosocial interventions, detoxification & relapse prevention prescribing and recovery & aftercare provision-Guidance, referral and liaison for clients moving into Tier 4 in-patient and residential servicesIt is the intention of the Council to notice and issue the tender on 21 July 2014 with the documentation being available through eTender Wales.
