Scarborough Borough Council is looking enter into contract with a Fish Services Market Provider. Service requirements are : Service Requirements Be registered with the Marine Management Organisation as a seller/buyer of first sale marine fish (including shellfish) in the UK Hold employers and public liability insurance Provide ice through the provision of ice machines situated at both Whitby and Scarborough Harbours. Must be able to provide a capacity of 3 tonnes a day at Whitby and 5 tonnes a day at Scarborough at peak times, but to ensure available at all times. The ice machines must be insured and maintained under a service contract. Must also provide cold room facilities to ensure the ice produced is kept at the correct temperature at all times. Provide forklift truck facilities at both Scarborough and Whitby for the distribution of ice and the transporting of fish. Must ensure that the machines are fully insured and under a service contract to ensure health and safety requirements are met at all times. (Must also have access to or provide hire facilities of a fork lift truck in the event of a breakdown). Provide electronic weighing scales at both Scarborough and Whitby for the accurate weighing of fish. All scales should be serviced under a service contract to ensure weights and measures regulations are adhered to. Provide the facilities for tipping the ice onto the fishing vessels (methods used vary depending on the height of the tide and the size of the vessel). To ensure that staff are available 24/7 for the provision of ice. Times vary depending on the tides and the size of the vessel. This is paramount for vessels visiting the port from outside of this area. Provide fish boxes for hire for local fishermen and to ensure that facilities are available for the cleaning and storage of the boxes. Provide auction services at both Scarborough and Whitby as and when required. Able to provide staff cover when Salesman is ill or on holiday Issue Scarborough Borough council with landing figures and grossing's, and to collect levies on their behalf of all fish that is sold through local auctions. Liaise closely with the Harbour Master and Harbour Office and local and visiting fishermen to ensure smooth running of both ports Promote the ports
