Provision of Flying Start Childcare PlacesPurpose of the Service:To provide Flying Start Childcare places in Wrexham County BoroughTerm: 4 school terms from 1 April 2016Where:Flying Start areas of WrexhamTo Provide:To provide Flying Start Childcare Places for eligible children, the term after their second birthday until the term after their third birthday.This will include:High-quality play and learning opportunities for children, in accordance with the conditions of the grant 2.5 hours a day, 5 days a week, excluding weekends, providing 12.5 hours in total per week for 39 weeks of the year, during school term timeApplying appropriate procedures for identifying, assessing and making provision for children with additional learning needs, as identified in the Wrexham County Borough Council Additional Needs PolicyDeliverables:Childminders – must be able to offer a minimum of 2 places at any one timeEvery other setting – must be able to offer a minimum of 4 places at any one timeAll childminders and every other setting must be currently CSSIW-registered for provision for two-year olds or will need to be by 31 March 2016The minimum qualification requirement is Level 3 CCLD for practitioners and level 5 management CCLD for a supervisory positionThe childminders and every other setting will usually be situated in, or within pram-pushing distance (10 – 15 mins walking distance) of the following Flying Start areas:Central Wrexham LotCaia Park & HightownWest Wrexham LotBrymboBrynteg (New Broughton and Gwenfro areas)GwersylltLlaySouth Wrexham LotCefn MawrPenycaePlas MadocPant (Rhosllanerchrugog)• The contract is due to commence 1 April 2016.
