Archaeology at Southampton has a lively and welcoming atmosphere. Ranked 29th in the world for Archaeology (QS World University Rankings, 2019) and 3rd for research power in the UK (REF, 2014), we have an international reputation as one of the leading centres for the study of archaeology, with high profile research projects carried out all over the world. Our syllabus covers the span of human history, from the emergence of our species to debates about the role of archaeology in contemporary society. Our staff are involved in archaeological fieldwork and investigations that feed into all our teaching. The range of taught programmes, as well as our research community and excellent facilities, emphasise how archaeology is a truly interdisciplinary subject that bridges the divide between the humanities and the sciences. To support ongoing research works and student experience, the Archaeology department at the University is looking to procure some Geophysical Equipment seperated out over 4 (four) Lots: •Lot 1: GPR (GPR equivalent to SIR-4000 and antennae) •Lot 2: 8 Channel Radar •Lot 3: ERT 128 probe system •Lot 4: Electromagnetic (EMI) systems (equivalent to CMD Explorer and Mini Explorer) A full overview of the above mentioned Lots, is provided in (File 2) Appendix 1: - Specification.
