Medical practice and related services. The MOD has a requirement for a General Practitioner Practice within a 30 mile radius of RAF Spadeadam, Gilsland, Cumbria to provide Primary Healthcare services to approximately 90 personnel registered at RAF Spadeadam and supported administratively at the Station Medical Centre (SMC) located at RAF Boulmer. There may also be the occasional requirement to provide the full range of General Practitioner services to service personnel registered at other Military Medical facilities.The service provider is to comply in all respects with the General Medical Council's(GMC) guidance on ‘Good Medical Practice’ and ‘Management of Doctors’. Service shall encompass Primary Healthcare in accordance with National Service Frameworks and Joint Services Policy, which concerns healthcare assurance based on the NHS Standards, and Occupational Health services in accordance with MOD guidelines.The service provider is accountable to the Regional Clinical Director(RCD), Defence Primary Healthcare (North) Region (DPHC(N)) on all matters affecting the physical efficiency, maintenance of health, prevention of sickness, comfort and well-being of all personnel registered at RAF Spadeadam. The service provider will be required to provide appropriate resources (General Practitioner(s)) to complete sick parades from the Station complement of 90 personnel and on occasions to service personnel registered at other locations. Consultations to be held daily Monday to Friday at the contractor's General Practitioner Practice between the hours of 8:00 — 17:00 hours and to provide telephone advice for medical and administrative matters during surgery hours and prior to the Out of Hours Provider commencing Out of Hours services at 18:30 hours.The service provider shall allow short notice access to service personnel at the Service Providers local General Practitioner Practice during duty hours 8:00 — 17:00 hours. In addition the service provider shall allow access to local clinics conducted by professional qualified nursing staff.All consultations are to be transcribed onto the Defence Medical Capability Programme, which will be facilitated by RAF Boulmer SMC.
