Provision of Housing Related Support: temporary supported housing for people who have offended

Carmarthenshire County Council is seeking to commission a ‘Not for Profit’ organisation who are an accredited provider under the Supporting People Welsh Assembly Guidelines. The organisation must have suitable skills and experience to provide a supported housing service for people who have offended to live with support in the community. They will also need to work in partnership with the Wales Probation Service to maximise the tenants choice, privacy and dignity.Carmarthenshire County Council will also be looking to work with the successful service provider to meet the accommodation needs of the service through the private rented sector, the costs of which will need to be rechargeable through rent.The Authority endeavours to achieve sustainable development outcomes from all its activities and is committed to contributing to the social, economic and environmental well-being of the wider community in all procurement activity. The successful contractor and sub contractors are therefore required to take account of sustainable development issues and will be encouraged to consider opportunities to achieve community benefits through the delivery of this contract e.g. recruit and train unemployed persons as part of the workforce delivering this contract; work with local schools and colleges for work placements; engage with local communities; etc.
