Bidders are invited for the supply and delivery of IT professional services support to meet the operational and clinical requirements for Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust.The contract will have duration of 3 years with the option to extend a further 2 x 12 months.The services requested are the support of a third party organisation to provide a range of professional support services to the Trust that will add to and complement its own IT operational skills, capabilities and capacity. The supplier may also be required to support and facilitate the realisation of the Trust’s 5 year Information Technology Strategy (which sets the direction of travel for long term requirements and building a range of strategic partnerships with key vendors).Typical services the Trust may require could include:Professional Services: requirements may range over various activities, i.e. quarterly disaster recovery testing, root cause analysis of complex and reoccurring IT failures, performance and capacity monitoring of the server, storage and hyper-visor infrastructure layers. These types of activities are likely to be called upon if the internal IT department do not have sufficient resources.Hardware and Software Support: 24/7 break and fix services, including time and materials.Engineering: additional engineering services including warranty support, incident and service desk functions.Engineering resources may also be called upon to support Trust projects that require additional temporary engineering resources.Vendor Management: management of complex vendor technical issues and escalation for speedy resolution of specific incidents or future developments. This service is considered to be essential, as the Trust has visualised 90 % + of the server estate and is moving forward with visualising the desktop applications.Design Consultancy Service: the supplier may be requested in assisting the Trust through the designing phase of future infrastructure topologies, capacity planning and performance tuning. Creating options appraisals that may include; exploring IT Services such as Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS); co-location of the Trust disaster recovery services; software as a service (SaaS) and; developments within the public services government cloud framework.
