South West Wales Legal ConsortiumFramework Agreement for the Provision of Legal ServicesThe South West Wales Legal Consortium seeks expressions of interest from firms of solicitors with knowledge of Welsh legislation or who are prepared to obtain such knowledge for appointment to a framework agreement for the provision of legal services. The Consortium currently comprises 11 unitary local authorities, three police authorities, a fire service authority and a university. As well as the current Consortium authorities the framework agreement has the potential for other local authorities, police authorities, fire service authorities, national park authorities, schools, further education colleges, universities and registered social landlords to participate, provided they are authorities, education establishments or registered social landlords in Wales.Under the framework agreement, participating authorities will operate panels with up to six “partner firms” and a wider approved list of firms for a full range of public sector legal work. Firms may apply for appointment to either or both panels and for more than one type of work.The framework agreement is expected to commence on 1st April 2011 for a period of three years with the option to extend for a further year. None of the participating members will be bound to award any contract under this tender process or under the framework agreement and there is no guarantee of the volume or value of work to be placed.
