A competitive tender was undertaken seeking to award to a provider for the provision of Deprivation of Liberties Services providing Independent Best Interests Assessors (BIAs) and Section 12-approved doctor assessments to help meet the council's legal duties under the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS).
The contract is to be awarded for a period of 5 plus an optional 1 year extension (a total of 6 years).
The value of the contract will be £666k annually and if all 6 years are provided the total contract value is £3,996k
